College football is back! What a beautiful day it is! We have our first pick of the year selected.
Florida Gators (+5.5) @ Utah Utes
With our first pick we will be rolling with the Gators +5.5. Cam Rising is out and the Utes will rotating in two backup QBs. Bryson Barnes will get the bulk of the workload and we may even see Nate Johnson thrown in for a few plays.
Florida is starting Wisconsin transfer Graham Mertz. He played below his expectations at Wisconsin, hence the move to Florida. He will have growing pains in Florida but the +5.5 points against a Utes team missing their potential Heisman trophy QB. Defense will be in full effect in this game.
The SEC is historically good against non-conference opponents in week one. I see a low scoring tight game. Utah 23 – Florida 20.
